What would be faster 7x430fsb or 12x333fsb

3.1 GHZ fsb 7*430
or 4ghz FSB 333*12
I had my e5300 @ 7*400mhz seemed
fast enough for my needs and Im just wondering if there is any point in tinkering since I run @ 12*333 now
well...whats faster I dont really have time to test for 40 mins I could use that time for playing games

  1. come on I see you reading
    take some time and answer
  2. Which number is bigger. If you can figure that out, you should have your answer.

If 3.1 is fast enough for your needs, then i would personally leave it there.

4Ghz is definitely faster... If it is stable and your cooler can manage the temperature then do it.
If you want to do a quick stability test then use intelburn test. It will give you some good indication of stability within 8 minutes ( standard test 2048Mb 5 run). If your PC pass this then it should be stable enough to play games.
  5. Can you not go 400 * 9.5, sweet spot!!
  6. 4Ghz > 3.1Ghz

What more do you need to know?
  7. bus speed + lower clock speed relative to higher clock speed lower bus
yes Im already running @ 4ghz*333 low temps and its 100 percent stable
well games never crash and I can complete 3dmark @ just over 15,1xx pts so thats good enough
and 400fsb*9 is 3.6 with my low cache is that still gonna be the sweet spot you think ?
  8. ok will try 9.5*400
  9. 400*10 perhaps??
  10. @spentshells: what vcore did you use for that clock?

I got my E5400@266x12.5 stable on 1.26vcore...and also 313x11.5 stable on the same vcore...but why does i had some graphical issue 313x11.5...

nb: i ran prime95 for 5hours and it goes fine...

sorry all for my bad english...thx...

nope 400*10 no good Ima crank up the voltage to 1.39x as I currently don't get above 51C
  12. 1.26 ?? are you running a stock cooler ? I have the freezer pro rev 2
