I've been looking for a good i7 rig, and I keep coming back to the Evga x58. It has great specs, but it doesn't have "true" 16x 3-way SLI. Would it really affect gaming if you had 2 cards at 16x and 1 at 8x?
Also, if I'm running 2SLI will that be at 16x?
Thanks guys, TH's forums are a great help :D

I don't know how it works on the evga but on my DFI 2-way with the 3rd x16 slot empty will run 16x 16x but if the other 16x slot has any card installed it will run 16x 8x.
Going 3-way it will run 16x 8x 8x. I think most boards are similar that gon't have the nvidia 200 chip. [H] did a test with 3-way both ways and found no advantage to having 16x 16x 16x over 16x 8x 8x.

The EVGA motherboard is good and when you have three cards in it, it will most likely run the 8x card as a PhysX processor. I don't think theres a card out there that has overcome the 8x bandwidth anyway.
