I'm going to sell my Dell 2709W...and use a 22" Samsung with Native Res of 1680x1050.
I'm getting my new rig with an e8400+gtx260 core 216...is it a waste gaming at that resolution?

I might just use it and wait until a nice 32"+ TV goes on a mega sale...or wait for my bro to move out and take my 37" 1080p LCD TV back.
How will a gtx 260 core 216 perform at 1920x1080? I was thinking of SLI when I eventually get a larger display, or a single gtx 260 good at that res?

GTX 260 is good for 22 - 26" I'd say at most for single card solution. In its optimal state, it's between 22 - 24".

If you do SLI, It'll prolly scale up to 30" but if you go any higher it starts to stretch it a bit.

What? 22" monitors are usually 1680 x 1050, 24 - 28" are 1920 x 1200 and 30" computer monitors 2560 x 1600 that is the higher resolution available. Is the resolution what matters not the size of the display.
I think that you'll be fine with the GTX 260 at 1080p

the max i'll be going is 1920x1200...the physical size of the display doesn't matter right haha.
i was thinking of just sticking with my 22" 1680x1050 right now..since i only have 1 gtx260...
but that's because i want everything maxed with 40+fps haha.

yes I'm generalizing a bit. 24 - 26" is 1900 x 1200 and 28 - 30" is 2560 x 1600. At 2560 x 1600 res, it becomes harder for 1 card to power the graphics.

I've got a Q6600 running at 3ghz with a GTX260+ and it has generally crushed everything I've thrown at it to my satisfaction at 1920x1200.
