hello all !

i have msi motherboard RC410M2-L / 7173 AMS.

i've updated the bios ver. 3.5 which is available at msi site, via the live update program which has updated the bios while running in the OS (XP at this case).

atfer reboot, i've got this massage : "cmos checksum bad" , after the i can choose f1 for setup or f2 for defalut settings, i've pressed f2, and XP loaded after a while.

i've tried several things :

1. i've disconnected the CMOS battary from the motherboard, and put a new one.

2. i've updated the bios again ti 3.5 with windows me boot disk

3. downgraded to 3.0 and then again to 3.5


none from above sloved this massage.

sombody have any idea what could it be ?

Hello klayman,

i have the same problem too. I even flashed with the online tool and also bios files. I have the same error.

Did you already solve the problem?

Hi Klayman,

I tried again Flashing MSI 7173 with BIOS v 3.0. It worked. No more Checksum bad message. Seems like v3.5 is not stable.
