I bought an Intel X-25M G2 last year for my desktop, and I absolutely love it. I am looking to buy a new laptop, and was surprised that many of the mainstream laptop sellers dont offer SSDs, or if they do, only as an expensive extra (i.e. more expensive then the price difference between HDD and SSD).
I am also concerned about the substantial difference in quality of different manufacturers of SSDs, and knowing whether or not one included with a laptop is a good one like the Intel.
Are there any recommended laptop brands which have good quality SSDs shipping in new laptops?
Thanks for your reply. My first choice is to get a laptop that comes with SSD already built in for a few reasons, mostly because switching them would probably void the warranty and there is obviously the extra cost on an unnecessary HDD.
Also I am a little bit wary of compatibility problems, not sure if others have encountered a lot of these when making the switch.
Im a bit surprised this isnt a bigger selling item for laptop makers. Its perfect for laptops, low heat and low energy. And of course the performance when booting up is great.
So no laptop makers really taking advantage of it at the moment?
