We have configured a DNS server with a public IP on a Windows 2003 server. It is working fine and we are able to access internet through this server. We want to know whether this DNS is resolving the IPs or it is forwarding to the other DNS (defined in Hint).

To see whether your newly set up server is working:
nslookup www.yahoo.com <public ip of ur server>

To see whether it is forwarding to another server:
nslookup <a name that only the server being forwarded to knows about> <public ip of ur server>
