Hello,
When I turned on the computer this morning none of my two harddisks were detected and thus the computer couldn't boot up windows. My CD-drive was detected, however.
I've hardware knowledge whatsoever, but I cracked open the computer and eventually noticed that the three devices shared a common cable labeled 'Serial ATA Cable'. I figured that changing the CD-cable with my main hard disk might help - and it did! Now my computer regonizes one of my disks, but neither the other nor the cd-drive.
What could be wrong? Is it the original disk cables that are broken, or perhaps the motherboard cable inputs? How can I debug the system to figure out which component is broken?
