There is really no best case. Choose one that you like since you'll have to look at it regularly.

Antec, CoolerMaster, Lian Li, NZXT, Silverstone, and Thermaltake are good case brands to look at.

If you aren't looking for flashy LED's and the like, the Ultra Grid or E-Torque seem like good cases. They have nice cable management and a large side window. Unfortunately they do not include fans. They each have room for one 120mm intake and one 120mm exhaust. There is a CPU vent as well as a GPU vent. The price is only ~$50 so just buy a couple of good fans and you still end up at a great price.

I'm currently using a RAIDMax Smilodon, which is a pretty decent case you can get for under 100$. Doesn't look half bad too, if you're into that.

Comes in Green or Blue lights (though I'm sure you can get others if you want):

Four Fans as well:
120mm intake fan in the front
120mm exhaust fan in the back
80mm side intake (it blows air over the GPU, very nice)
80mm side exhaust fan (over the CPU)

Both side panels open, which makes it a breeze for motherboard install.

My favorite Mid Tower is my Antec P182. It is large for a mid tower though. If you want a case with lots of lights then look elsewhere. If you want a professional, solid, well designed case then the P182 is worth a look.
