Hi guys...

I'm not expert about cpu and motherboard thingy but I hope some answer regarding my problem here.

I just bought 2nd hand P5B deluxe since my old motherboard broken.
I don't do overclocking and I just want the system to run full optimized.
But unfortunately, the system doesn't boot well because it always BSOD whenever
i tried to install WinXP or Ubuntu.

Here the spec:

BIOS SETTING : All at AUTO
MOBO : P5B Deluxe BIOS version 1236(latest i guess)
CPU : Core 2 duo E6750 2.6GHz
MEM : 1GBx2pcs Samsung 5300U-555-12-E3, M378T-2953EZ3-CE6(currently at DIMM-A1&DIMM-B1)
GRAPHIC CARD : NVIDIA 8600GTS 256MB
HDD : single disk 320GB (SATA)

So, what is the setting in the BIOS should i set?
Currently, I set the "CPU FREQUENCY" at "266" and the system run smooth without a problem at moment.
I checked with CPUZ and the processor currently run at 2133.4MHz.

thanks.

set everything back to auto, and install the memory in slots A1 and A2, those are the proper slots for dual channel memory.

also, make sure that the memory is running at the proper voltage, if it's higher than 1.8v you will need to manually set that in the bios.

Download the bootable CD image of memtest86+, burn it onto a CD, and boot from that to run memtest86+ and make sure you don't have any obvious memory errors.

i did what u've told me and same things happen. still BSOD when installing XP and the system suddenly shutdown when installing UBUNTU.

Perhaps, I should buy the better memory...

So, I don't know why but might be my problem is solved.

I set the "CPU frequency" at "332" so I get my cpu running at 2656MHz.

If I set at "333", the system become unstable though.

Anyway, I don't know the current setting is stable or not but i'll keep inform if the system back it was again.

Thanks anyway.
