Do I need an external drive for capturing and editing HDV 1080p?

I will be capturing and editing 1080p HDV footage using Adobe Premiere Pro. Do I need to capture footage to an external drive or could I use my C drive for capturing to and editing from?

You could add an internal drive to your computer, which would be better than the C drive or an external, unless you have a laptop.
If you have a laptop, use the external drive.
