Why i dont see the messenger icon on my desktop,I dont see it on my add or delat

hello to all,,,well i cant find my windows live icon anywhere,,i do see the icon fro an old version that sucks and dont want to use..i can't find the icon anywhare,not even in the control panel...what can I doplease..Thanks a lot to all
