I just purchased a 9800gt. I'm using the latest version of rivatuner(2.20) to setup fan speeds based on gpu temps. I have the scheduler set up to start at 60%. When my temp hits 55C it goes up to 70%, 60C to 80% and on up to 100%. I have "reference fan duty cycle%" setup so I can see if my fan is adjusting properly. The problem is, it always says it's running at 100%. I know for a fact it's not. I can manually set it to 100% I can hear to the fan increase. The scheduler seems to be working properly based on sound, but I would like to be able to monitor the speed with a tray icon just to be sure. The data provider settings are set at "built in data provider" and I don't have the option to change that. Any ideas?
I forgot to mention, I am using 175.31 forceware drivers. I don't want to upgrade to the 180 drivers since there have been some serious issues with those for some people.
The version I've had the best luck with 177.79. After tring a least a half dozen, above and below this driver. If you have decent download speeds you may want to try 4 or 5, to see which one runs the smoothest on your system.
Having the fastest frps doesn't mean smoother game play.

I upgrade to 178 but rivatuner is still not displaying the proper fan speed. It's not a big deal as long accurately adjusting the speed. And I can pretty much tell by the sound of the fan where it's at. It's just annoying that the hardware monitoring says it's always 100%
If you use Evga Precision, first time watch closely to make sure the fan is running. I installed 180.24 and the fan wasn't even turning at all, and couldn't activate it or make any changes.
V3NOM, does running a EVGA 9800 GT on asus M3A79-T with Cross-Fire, make me a FanBoi 2 ???? LOL
