Help! I just baught a PNY Nvidia 9800GT 1 gig card for my son gaming computer. I replaced a 7300GT that worked fine. We installed the card and eveything worked good for an hour or so. Now the computer freezes at start-up. It recognizes the card, shows the msi/boot screen, starts Vista (64 bit) with the scolling green Windows symbol then it freezes. It will work in safe mode and when i unistall the driver the computer works fine. Of course, PNY nor Nvidia can support today. ANY Ideas what I could have done wrong?

try to get a copy of driver sweeper.
Uninstall the Nvidia driver and reboot.
Run driver sweeper and reboot again
You may have to do it again until you get windows booted using the most plain generic drivers from windows.
Then install the new drivers.
Nvidia drivers like to be installed from scratch and you may have some leftovers from the card 2 generations earlier.
