WINDOWS PRODUCT ACTIVATION

WARNING MSG. SAYS...

This copy of windows must be activated with microsoft before you can log on.
Do you want to activate windows now? Yes No

Hit yes, Blue screen comes up, this is where you should type the validation key but, there are NO spaces to type it. It is just a blue solid block.
Please tell me how to get this done, i cannot log on untill i do it. and this just did happen, i have been running this PC for 2 years, now i cannot log on to my windows desktop. please help me.

Just because you've been running it for two years doesn't mean it's a legitimate copy of windows. Microsoft updates their WGA software from time to time.

Contact the microsoft activation number, which I believe should be listed on your screen, and let them know what is happening and if they can help you resolve the issue.

It IS legitimate copy. I bought it, i registered it, i activated it over two years ago. and all microsoft could tell me after an hour trying stuff i had already tried was for me to get another copy of Windows XP and reinstall. NO way. i am not losing all the programs and info i have. so... my quest continues.

Maybe one of your system files is corrupt. You can open a command prompt as administrator and type sfc /scannow or run a repair install and see if that fixes it.
