So im switching out and AMD 64 for an AMD 64 X2....the old one runs at 40-50c and the new one runs 65c-90c. With that being said I didnt change the paste yet as i am wating for that in the mail. Is this normal? There is still a good amount of paste on the heatsink. So I hope Im not breaking anything..lol before anyone kills me on her im new to this stuff....have a good one.

the paste is the problem. put a little bit (a size of a grain of rice) on the bottom of the heatsink and install. after that you should be fine.
