I re-installed my operating system wondows XP professional but now I have in Device Manager driver problems:
other devices
-->multimedia audio controller
-->other pci bridge device
-->sm bus controller
Network card and audio card obviously don't work.
I think it is matherboard driver missing but i haven't a cd and i haven't name of my matherboard.
If you don't know anything about your system, then it will be difficult to tell you which drivers are required. Can you at least run CPU-Z to identify the motherboard and CPU?
Sorry, but It's not mine. I'm recovering a system for a person that can't have one. I downloaded CPU-Z, I will post outcomes.
Main usage of this system should be internet browsing and, at the moment, it doesn't work (network card is not identified by OS).
"I installed MY operating system software on someone else's computer without knowing ANYTHING about the hardware, can anyone help me?" Sure, hang a sign outside your house that says "A COMPUTER TECH DOESN"T LIVE HERE."
Click the Download tab, select WinXP and download the Version 5.03 chipset drivers from the Others folder. All required drivers (other than Audio) are included in that file.
SOUNDS LIKE A GATEWAY OR AN EMACHINE COMPUTER POSSIBLY AN OLDER DELL WITH THAT K8N MOBO
AND WITH THOSE PARTICULAR DRIVERS NOT WORKING
IN MY LINE OF WORK (YES IM A TECH )
IN MY LINE OF WORK WHEN THOSE DRIVERS ARE NOT BEING RECOGNIZED AND THOSE SYSTEMS ARE NOT WORKING IT IS MORE THAN LIKELY THAT YOUR MOTHER BOARD "IS" GOING BAD (ITS GOING TO DIE)
THINK OF IT LIKE A CAR MOTOR IT CAN BE BURNING OIL BUT STILL RUN
YOU CAN RUN A V8 MOTOR WITH 4 CYLINDERS BUT ITS GOING TO DIE SOON
