machine post but no screen

I can hear everything spin up eg. dvd rom,floppy even hd led comes on all fans spinning but nothing out of monitor have tried 2 different video cards switched from the #2 slot to #5 slot still nothing no post can't even boot from disc???? oh yea the system was working????

You'll need to be a bit clearer and post your specs. Is this a new build?

MB?
CPU?
Mem?
video card?
Power supply?

Beep codes? LED indicators on the MB? Just because the thing spins up doesn't mean it POSTs.

Is Num Lock responsive? Does Ctl+Alt+Del make it 'restart'?

If not, then you're not actually POSTing. Start pulling components til you do.

If yes, then check monitor power, check monitor cable, check monitor function on another PC.

Is there onboard video? BIOS settings might be disabling external video...
