I had to RMA my Asus 4870, so since bestbuy has an awesome return policy for x-mas gifts, I decided to take advantage of it and get a visiontek 4870 while my other one is away. Anyways I installed the new one, booted in safe mode and uninstalled the old drivers then ran hd driver cleaner pro to get rid of any that may be hiding. Rebooted.

 

Now I ran the setup from the cd it came with, rebooted. Driver cannot be loaded, code 39.
Safemode -> cleaner -> reboot.
Code 39.

 

Downloaded latest ccc/drivers from ATI site. Same thing, safe, cleaner, reboot. code 39.

 

Tried my old asus cd, no luck.

 

Anybody got any ideas?

Try the latest drivers from ATI's website would be the best bet for ya.

Make sure you have net framework installed on your computer before installing the ati driver.....at least version 2 or higher.....I would also make sure your windows is up to date......also try reinstalling direct x

Doesn't the ccc installer check for net framework installed before it installs the driver or anything. I'll do both of those and get back to you shortly.
