Hi, this is probably a really obvious question but I didnt have any luck For 1650x1050 resolution which is better? *2 9800gt's in SLi or *2 HD4850's in Crossfire. Thanks

at that resolution you really don't need dual gpu's. Unless your building a core i7 system, I"ll assume you don't have your motherboard yet. In which case i'd go ati with a intel chipset for stability.
The 4870 is in line with the GTX260, and 2 8800GT's in SLI beat the GTX260, considering that the 9800GT's are simply re badged 8800GT cores with slightly upgraded other parts, that means that 2 9800GT's in SLI will outperform the GTX 260 even more therefore they beat the 4870, since the 4870 beats the 4850 the 2 9800gt's will beat the 4850. Hope ya got all that.
However you will have a micro studer issue with SLI/crossfire.
Microstuddering is an issue with the constancy of FPS. lets say a single card delivers 20fps which means that its a constant 5ms in between frame, now when you have SLI you get 30fps however you get "clumps" of frames however you still getting 30fps your only getting 10 with 2ms in between them and sometimes you get only 10 with 8ms in between. even though your eyes cant see the tell that its not meshed frames it can tell that there not fluid.
Hope this helps!

I'd go with the 4850s, mostly because then you can use an Intel chipset, which takes less power and runs cooler and more stable than an Nvidia chipset.
Now that sounds a little Fanboish V3NOM You cant say HD 4850 dont OC good,it OCs very well too,and its more powerful than 9800GT and has a slight edge over 9800GTX+

Even with 50% fan speed, it runs much cooler than stock. You'd be surprised how low the stock fan speed tends to be.
Of course that also means that no matter how high you crank it over stock, it won't really get any hotter, the fan will just spin faster (if you don't manually bump it up). That's how my 4870x2 is - no matter what kind of load you put on it, as long as it's above idle, it runs 90C. If I'm running Command and Conquer Generals, it runs 90C, but at 35% fan speed. If I'm running Crysis, it runs 90C, but at 50% fan speed (oh, and it's a freaking vacuum cleaner at 100% fan speed, which it luckily never reaches on auto fan control).
