I have a coolmax 400 watt power supply real quiet version 2.1, My buddy had just sent me a altec basiq 500 watt, My computer is a compaq sr5710f- amd athlon x2 4450e, 3 gig of ddr2 800, 250 gig sata hdd, dvd rw- sound blaster xfi 24, usb 160 gig hard drive, geforce 9500gt 512 mb pcie 2.0. should I keep the coolmax in her or replace with the altec, whats better. the 12 volt on the altec is alot higher .

coolmax are the worst psu i have ever used - they run very hot and the fans run too slow they are terrible!

i never heard of altec you mean antec? -- antec are great!

anything is better the coolmax
