tv tuner -green and magenta only picture...HELP

I bought a visiontek ati hd 650 pcie tuner card.The tv picture from the tuner is a double image and only green and magenta colors. My tv signal is analog ,the card is supposed to be analog and digital.I called visionteks tech support,described my symptoms and they said I had a bad card and to send it back for replacement.the new card is giving me exactly the same results.My computer is as follows : Biostar Tforce ta 790gx mb , Amd 2.4 ghz dual core processor , 4 gigs of corsair ddr2 800 ram , 1 tb wd hard drive , asus eah 3650 graphics card , Lg blu-ray/dvd player burner , os is windows xp. I am using the ati catalyst media center that came with the tuner card . Everything works with the ati catalyst correctly (dvds ,recorded video etc works fine , I use cyberlink for blu-ray) .The only issue I am having is with the tv tuner . I have hooked up an outside antenna for ota tv , I have connected it to the video out terminals of two direct tv boxes , tried using an external dvd player and a vcr as video sources.I have a pinnacle dazzle analog capture device that I conected to all of the inputs listed above and the video I get from them are fine.All I can think is that maybe this card is for hd only and not analog as per what the specs say.I cannot find anywhere what an analog signal would look like over an hd tuner.I have an AMD/Ati system so there should be no hardware conflicts there , all drivers are up to date . I know I have rambled on but I am fresh out of ideas on what to try next.
