I understand this thread/topic might be better placed in the Gigabyte section of overclocking, but I'm basically just looking for a quick answer/poll.

For the most part it seems from the solid, informative posts on this fine forum that using EasyTune6 and/or Smart6 for a simple +20% overclock (on an i5-750 for instance ---> 2.67ghz to 3.2ghz) is frowned upon and not recommended. It is not recommended for the good reason that EasyTune6 and/or Smart6 are not reliable and can become a major pain.

Basically, I'm just looking for confirmation of the above conclusion/opinion. Though if there are EasyTune6/Smart6 users here who have used the Gigabyte software to obtain stable +20% overclocks, please let me know.

Yes. Many seasoned OCers will tell you that any CPU OCing software is not that good. On most Gigabyte boards I'v tried Easy Tune on, it usually leads to a BSOD with a little over 7% OC.
