CAN SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME IF I CAN UPGRADE MY CPU WITH AN INTEL, I HAVE THE ASUS A8N-SLI PREMIUM AND THE AMD Athlon(tm) 64 FX-53 Processor (2412 MHz). I WOULD LIKE TO UPGRADE SOME THING BETTER FOR HD VIDEO EDITING. PLEASE HELP. THANKS. PLEASE NAME 3.

the best processors for the socket 939 are:
opteron-180 @ 2.4GHz dual core
opetern-185 @ 2.6GHz dual core
fx-60 @ 2.6GHz dual core

there is no intel chip that can go into that board, it is an AMD board

though you would be better if you upgraded to the new socket AM3 and bought new memory and cpu along with it

btw, writing in all caps implies shouting

how easy is it to upgrade to the new socket am3, would you think the average comp person can do it themselves?

To upgrade to the AM3 socket would require at least a new motherboard, CPU, and DDR3 Ram. Possibly a new powersupply.

Any upgrade for you will require at least a new mobo, ram and cpu.

Thanks, I think I will wait then just purchase a high end desktop. I am in the process of buy a top notch ALIENWARE laptop! This will help with my video editing projects.
