The network does not seem to be operating at 1Gb/s and it seems slow. We are not sure if because the router is not a 1Gb capable, the entire network is running at a slower rate. Does the router need to be 10/100/1000 in order to be running at the maximum level? There are no computers plugged in to the router, only the 1Gb switch. Each computer has a 10/100/1000 network card and the NAS supports it as well.
Is the router slowing everything down? Any input would be greatly appreciated!
P.S.
Would it be better to upgrade to 10Gb/s or Fiber Optic cable to improve the network speed? Want to keep it as cost effective as possible, but also need very fast transfer rates.
Thanks.
