Ok so lately i've been overclocking my CPU - It's an AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000 Windsor, from the stock 3.0Ghz to 3.3Ghz and it worked fine.
But once i tried going higher to 4.5Ghz i was awarded by a lovely BSOD.
I started noticing that NOD32 (my anti-virus) was telling me i had virus's in my System32 folder and i'm sitting there thinking "Oh for god sake what now!". So after NOD's inability to remove the virus's i thought i'd just leave them and deal with them later. Well two days after the initial reports or sometime later, I noticed that when i leave my pc on and do not touch it for like 4 or so hours, the monitor will go black to tell me its went to stand-by - however the Light is on green still, not amber.
I press the power button to turn it off and back on and oh what do you know! I get a display of my desktop for about a second, if that and then total blackness.
Now when i reboot the PC so i can continue using my machine, the initial boot process is much faster then normal, or what seems to me like it is. The first display is my Graphics card. and that takes 4 seconds, now it takes only about 1 second, then i get the display of my Republic of Gamers full screen logo telling me i can press delete to enter BIOS, that use to take 5 seconds, now it doesnt even show me the full Logo and off it goes to another black screen!
Even if i press delete to enter bios or F8 for boot settings, after a 1 second initial display, the screen goes black and i have to turn the monitor off and back on for me to see any settings, for another god damn second!
So yeah. What is wrong with my system? I've checked all the cables and they are plugged in fine, I now can't use my system and I have no idea if i've damaged my CPU or what, my motherboard is a ASUS Crosshair and even if i go around the back and look at the LCD Error post screen, it doesnt say anything is wrong. So it displays the current time in GMT format.
I even tried three different harddrive's and one which hadn't been plugged into this rig at all. Yet i get the same thing.
I'm begging you my fellow Computer lovers, HELP ME! - Thanks won't go unappreciated
EDIT: For some reason it won't let me edit my post.
But once i tried going higher to 3.5Ghz with a Lower voltage (I wanted to go higher for obvious reasons but AI Booster went lower -_-) i was awarded by a lovely BSOD. - Even In the BIOS the cpu speed was noted at 3450Mhz which never happened before when i Overclock, and reverting to default settings didn't change it so i had to downclock to basics in AI Booster.
