P5Q is nice.

Get a E8400 whit aftermarket AirCooling to take it to 3.0+ghz

some 800mhz ram that is quite CHEAP now. Gskill is quite cheap and good

For the GPU ... Nvidia, ati... ATI seems to be on the go. 4850 Cheap and good, 4870 lil more price but better !

a 500W+ psu

i like my CoolerMaster CM690 that i buyd for 80$, NICE airflow.

You now have the choice to buy a LCD and keeboard-mice.

Hoooo so you have like 900$ fon ONLY a tower ? nice !

forget about 4850 ! gor for 4870 ou 4870X2, cpu and board can remain the same, unless u plan on Dual 4870 gor for X48 board or something. you can still get some 1066 ram to that can help you get better OC from the CPU. Go to newegg, youll find nice price.

i think whit 900$ you can build a nice comp.

Your prices are a little off. but not my much.

keep the proc

gonna want to bump the price of the gpu up to at least about 150 for a 4850 with min of 512 mb, like http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814121272

save some money on the ram, and just about everyone on here swears by this Ram: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820146731

I don't know a lot about psu's but this one has quite a few good professional reviews. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817159058

if you spent 15-20 more on your hdd you'd get 240-300 more gigs

this is case thats pretty much a favorite around here. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811129042&Tpk=antec%20300 --and till the 25th they have a deal for combo's with their psu's which are supposed to be pretty good.

with your p5q-deluxe and 8500 youre look at 1020 with the the stuff I recomended, but you get some back in mir's or combo with the antec neopower 500 and save another $80 which would be slightly cheaper than your build.
Good Luck!

I dont know what i did added something twice maybe. bu tthe price would be $933 which would possiblyl let you get a 4870 or 1gig on the gpu. Another option is to go for a more expensive case that looks a little sweeter or larger lcd. Good Luck!

I have found a couple people with bios problems, most of them are using things that arent from "qualified vendors" according to the users manual. The overwhelming majority of people say its a great board. The deluxe does have 2 pci express 2.0 slots which would normally run at x16 however in crossfire mode the p45 chipset only utilizes x8(in crossfire only). What that means is each card is using x8 for a total of x16, which delivers a few frames per second less than a X48 chipset. for most people its not going to matter. If you were running top end graphix card like a 4870x2($500) in crossfire it would but the 4850 doesnt have the same amount of power so its not as big of a deal.

the deluxe is 16 phase and toms just did a review over how much energy they save... not much in reality. the deluxe does have a couple of nice features that the pro does not. e-sata for example, and will run a little cooler because of the larger heatsink. If you're not looking to oc and the e-sata doesnt matter, the pro is probably good for you, otherwise there's the p5q-e which still has the larger heatsink, is 8 phase like the pro and is $10 more than the pro. The biggest difference i've found with the deluxe and the e series boards is the heat pipe going to more things on the deluxe. It also has a couple more cables with it... but you'll probably end up with more than enough of those. It is very difficult finding the differences in these mobo's I know, I've been researching it myself because I am looking at a new one. I hope it helps a bit.

I like asus myself, its person preference-they have a great reputation of putting excellent mobo's out for about as long as anyone. Gigabyte is good too though. If the board is cheaper and has all the items on it that you want and need it is well worth looking into.
