I've got the cable, drivers, and mPT all seemingly working fine.
However, whenever I upload an MP3 to use as a ringtone, it shows as corrupt
when I try to play it on the phone. Do they have to be in a particular bit
or KHz rate for them to work on the V400? I have over 4000k available for
use on the phone ...

It appears it was the encoding I was using. I switched to using
Audacity as my encoder, and the files play fine.

What was your encoder before?

Taking a moment's reflection, Tropical Haven mused:

Wave MP3 Encoder (trial version) by RockN Audio. I had the choice of
using the lame MP encoder, and the Microsoft encoder within the program. I
chose the MS one assuming the "lame" one was, well, lame. As it turns out,
that is the one Audacity uses ... and the files probably would have worked I
had chosen it initially.

You sure about that? The one I finally got to work is showing on the
phone as 106k.
