Recently my Radeon HD3870X2 has been giving off a very loud fan noise and then I loose my picture.

Its being doing this anytime I play game. I do have it overclocked but I did not touch the voltage or anything.

It does not make this sound at any other time, until I start playing a game like E:TW.

Is this a sign that the video card is going to fail or something?

Thank you,

If the fan is revving, the it must be sensing that the GPU is heating up. Maybe it's heating up beyond the point of normal operation and shutting itself down. Considering it happens when you play games, that possibly the problem.

Monitor the temperature of the GPU and see what it gets to when you play a game.
