Eliminate IE8 toolbars?

Can the Favorites toolbar and the star be eliminated from IE8 configuration? See no need to waste screen space with that item.

right hand click on the browser and uncheck items you dont want!

FFavorites bar, with the gold star, does not have a check so a different approach is needed to eliminate the star and its bar which only take up space.
