EVGA 113-YW-E115-TR nForce 730i - No Video Signal???

Hi,

I'm currently helping my girlfriend's brother build a computer for his senior project. I decided to go with the nForce 730i as a platform because the whole board looks solid and has onboard video for a price they can afford.

Here's my problem. I set everything up yesterday with him, plugged everything in, and no matter what I try I always get "No Video Signal" from the onboard GPU. I've tried resetting the CMOS, powering the board on and off using its own switches, I've tried different monitors and cables to no avail.

PSU: Thermaltake 430w
Mobo: evga nForce 730i
Ram: 2gb Kinston ddr2 800
HDD: WD 160gb
CPU: Intel E5200

Any suggestions? Thanks for your time.

  1. Thank you so much!!!

Her brother had placed the CPU power connector (4-pin) in an 8-pin connector but placed it furthest from the CPU. Simple replug and I got a video signal instantly.

I feel dumb for not noticing this, but thank you again!
