Put a 2TB HDD in a 1TB external case?

I have an external case for 3.5 inch HDD(the specification said it support 1TB), now I want to buy a 2TB's HDD and put it into the case, will it running properly?

shouldn't be a problem....probably old specs from when hdd weren't that big

Thanks for your reply. I can't get the link now. However, I can see the chip of the case is Sunplus SPIF215A.
