hello,

my 9800gx2' light indicator glows yellow.I feel this isnot good, because my vga is slow compared to others.

I just want to have a proof , that yellow light means failure , to show with my warranty request.

thanks

I believe the yellow light means its not getting enough power, which would make sense why it doesn't perform like its suppose to.

Whats your PSU? Sounds like lack of power.

Whats the brand of PSU? This might be a case of a low quality PSU bringing down the system.

That should have enough power then. You do have both power connectors on the card hooked up, right?

you talk about those connections in right side of the card? http://images.techtree.com/ttimage [...] g_1016.JPG

They both glow green to me.

Yep - both of the connections on top of the card there.

but they glow green to me , i dont think that there is any problem

Out of curiosity, what do you mean by "slow compared to others"? What kind of score do you get in 3dmark06?

Reply to cjl

i think i get just a bit over 12k in 3dmark06

so can anyone tell me what that "yellow light" means?

BTW: there are two indicators , one is blue and other is yellow. It is strange that i cant plug my monitor through what yellow glowing tool, monitor just does not show any view then.

I'm at work so I can't look at my GX2 at the moment, but I distinctly remember seeing a yellowish/blue glow behind my computer projecting from my video card on to the wall. If I remember correctly, each DVI port has a light next to it, and blue means a monitor is connected to that port via DVI cable, and yellow/green means no monitor is connected to that port. I belive that to be able to use the secondary DVI port, you must have a monitor connected to the primary DVI port as well.

Just found some pics on hardocp, here is their review of the 9800 GX2 with plenty of pictures of the pretty lights: http://enthusiast.hardocp.com/arti [...] zaWFzdA==]

Here is the picture of the yellow/green light I believe you're speaking of: http://enthusiast.hardocp.com/imag [...] sLmpwZw==]

When the GX2 has any kind of an issue, you'll see red lights, green/yellow and blue are perfectly normal.
