I selected Diagnostic Startup in order to troubleshoot a
problem and when selected Normal Startup the PC seems to
stay in the Diagnostic mode. In 'Services' at the System
Configuration Utility I see that many of them
are 'Stopped'. Does anyone know how to Start them? Any
help will be happily received. Thank you very much in
advance.

Not all services should be running. Go to start -> settings
-> control panel ->administratice tools -> services. This
applet will allow you to start up stopped services.

However, read the information, the startup type etc. You may
find that there is no reason to start the service and possibly
a good reason not to. Probably best to leave them alone unless
you need the service and know that you are picking the right
one to start.
