I have a GA-E7AUM-DS2H gigabyte motherboard, and otherwise extremely fast hardware (1 GB Radeon HD 4850, Core 2 Duo 8400).
My blu-ray drive is an LG GGC-H20L. It rips / plays DVD's perfectly fine, but it will not detect blu-ray discs. Windows lists an empty "CD-ROM" or "DVD-RAM" drive when I insert a blu-ray disc.
Could it be a problem that I have my SATA drives on IDE mode? I'd prefer not to need to reinstall Windows, and I'm having trouble finding a way to switch to SATA mode with this nVidia chipset.
