Hi, I am looking at purchasing a GTX280, andwas just wondering the benefits of each package. For example, i would like bundled games/ software, better cooling or performance. I was originally looking at getting a 4870x2 but in Australia they have gone up by 250 dollars!!!! shattered my hopes of that :S lol

thanks,

Among Nvidia brands, I like EVGA because of the warranty and step up program.

Yeah, I heard great thing's about EVGA about their warrenty and step up program, if you can get one.

Besides that I would suggest staying with named brands and avoiding no named brands and just grab the best deal you can.

EVGA and XFX are what I buy.
EVGA has very good customer service.

a program that allows you to send back your old graphics card and get a new one (90 days is a fairly long time in graphics revolution) if you have registered your card+the program etc... google or go on to the evga website for more info lol

rule #1: GOOGLE IS YOUR FRIEND!

anyway, back on topic... it doesn't really matter imo, cos you just overclock them... i mean why pay like $50 or $100 for a "SSC" or "FTW" card when you could just get a cheap one and oc it to those specs free!

Right now, if you go with the EVGA brand, you get Far Cry 2 for free.

yeah but you would still be paying more than the cheaper 280's... so its not free at all. just reduced pricing.

Might want to wait until January 8th and see what the price of the GTX295 is in Australia, supposed to be $499.00 in the US. It's basically 2 gtx280's put together (well more like 2 cards in between the 260 and 280 put together.)

its basically two unlocked 260's put together. or two 260 "core 240" put together
