Hi all,

My comp has been unstable, and I suspected memory problems.

Relevant spec:
Motherboard: Asus-a7v8x-x
CPU: AMD Athlon XP 2400+
Memory: 1 gb corsair pc3200; 256 corsair pc2100 ; 512 legacy electronics pc 2100

I ran memtest and received a whopping 71 errors in 3 passes(confidence value > 100), all in test 8. A few q's

*What is the next step? I plan on isolating modules by running memtest on each of them
*Why were all the errors in the same test? What does this tell me?
*Is it smart to run all 3 modules, some with slower speeds,, even if they work. I guess my concern is that the pc2100 will slow down the memory. Would it be smarter just to run the faster corsair pc3200 1 gb?

Thanks in advance.

Yeah...I could buy more stuff, but that's what i'm trying to limit. If the pc2100 stuff works and doesn't slow the other stuff down, I'd be fine using it.

As far as memtest, I isolated the memory problem to the legacy electronics dimm. After running it with the two corsairs for over 8 hours, I had 0 errors. Hopefully I'll start seeing better performance after taking that piece out.
