Hello, I am new to this forum and hope to find a little help. Thank you in advance for any assistance.
My old computer running Vista 64 bit had a liquid cooling failure so I took the opportunity to buy a new rig. With no cooling the old computer wouldn't boot up of course. The new computer runs Windows 7 64 bit. I was wondering what would happen if I took the HD out of my old computer and put it in the new one in one of the empty bays. There are files I'd like to get off the old one. Would the fact that Vista is installed on the old one do anything bad? Or would the old HD just be recognized as a storage device and the old operating system be ignored?
