AMD Athlon 6000+

Hi,

I would like to know of a Intel CPU to match or beat by a small margin, the AMD Athlon X2 6000+. I'm hoping to build a cheap system to use as a video / media centre and I would like to get new equipment rather than used.
Low power consumption is a consideration.

E8 series just to make dammned sure ... but an E7200 stock should do the trick.

Why don't You go there =http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/charts/desktop-cpu-charts-q3-2008/benchmarks,31.html and check for Yourself on things that are more important for You. E7200 will do the trick or if You have older m/b that does not support E7xx series than E6700.

The answer. I am finding models for sale that aren't in the bewildering array of benchmarked processors, so I want informed opinions...
