Grand total of $1140.83 (minus shipping)

Basically I'd like some advice in dropping the total down to my $1,000 budget. The only constraint that I have is that any motherboard suggested HAS to have a S/PDIF Optical/Coaxial In. I don't want to have to buy new speakers as well. Let me know what you think!

I'd say the rig is fine. Looks like my old rig, at 1680x1050 you won't have any issues. You can also get a 500/550 watt PSU. I'm running crossfire and its only consuming least than 420watts.

That board is a good board - so I'm not gonna make any recommendations... thats just me anyway. You also might want to check the ram - GSkill Pi Black Edition

Yeah a buddy of mine swears by the P5Q Deluxe/E8500 combo like it was cake. So I'm pretty much sold on those two. I guess I pretty much can't get this build any cheaper unless I buy the parts from different places and pray for free shipping huh.

well for cutting cornersi would say....

drop the after market CPU cooler the stock can always be upgraded later...

drop down to a 320 gb Hd you can always more later

get a cheap mouse for now

that would drop it about 100 bucks if you find some sales you can bring it down the rest
