Hi i want to know if the 9500GT is good for games such as GTA4, Fallout 3, and other nice games like those.
thanks.
P.S
If you need to know the processor it will be Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 2.4GHz 8MB or Intel Core 2 Quad Q8200 2.33GHz.

the price you pay for that 9500GT you are way better off spending it on a hd4670.

take a look at some gta4 treads, the answers about your gta4, fallout3 question will be quickly answered.

9500Gt is not a gaming card for todays newest games. what is you budget to spend on a gpu (graphics card)?

I recommend you bump it up to a 9600GT it uses about 60w of power so; you will need to plug in a 6-pin power connector. The 9500GT is a budget GPU, a little better than integrated video.

Fallout 3 uses an updated Oblivion engine so if you Google for 9600GT reviews, just look at that particular benchmark for FO3.

I've read GTA IV is not well optimized. There have been screenshot of gamers with high end XFire and SLI setup and their frame rates is 19 - 25 frames per second simply standing still.

Not so bad. I have a XFX 9500 GT 256MB DDR3 and i can play Need For speed undercover on max settings / AA 6x / Max details and Textures. On max resolution on average ~ 60 FPS. :ange:

9500gt would choke trying to run GTA4, fallout 3 would be "playable" lets just put it that way

Yeah the game is a joke on the PC. It's like they just ported it over to the PC platform as is.

yeah GTA4 on the 9600GT to the GTX 280 is like almost no difference. crap coding and very CPU dependant.

imo, chuck the 9500GT for the 4670, or spend a little more on the 9600GT :)

i went into the fallout 3 site and they said there that theses Graphic cards NVIDIA Geforce 9800 series
NVIDIA Geforce 9600 series
NVIDIA Geforce 8800 series
NVIDIA Geforce 8600 series
NVIDIA Geforce 8500 series
NVIDIA Geforce 8400 series
NVIDIA Geforce 7900 series
NVIDIA Geforce 7800 series
NVIDIA Geforce 7600 series
NVIDIA Geforce 7300 series are good so is the 9500GT 1024 MB is good as well?

Reply to yo11yo

the performance of the 9500GT is compareble with the 7600, 8600GT

i still won't advise that card to you!

4670 or 9600GT for that 4670 you don't need an extra plug.

A '78 Chevette will make the trip from LA to New York, but wouldnt you rather do it in an '08 Escalade? Or more accurately, maybe an '08 Cobalt.

OP: No, the 9500, in any guise is not fast enough for modern games except at the lower settings and resolutions.
From your tone, this will be a new build so what size screen will you be using, and how much gaming will you be doing? What is your budget?
What country are you in for that matter?
Without this information we really are just shooting in the dark.
A good pairing for your CPU/s would be either a 9800GT/GTX/GTX+ or HD4850 according to budget and brand preferences. (bang!)

I have a friend with a 9500, FO3 crashes when he leaves the Vault 101 training mission and enters the gameworld. Generally his rig does suck, its not just the GPU but even if you get it running, it wont be very nice at all.

A 4 series Radeon will do you, as suggested above.

Agreed. I'm running the card and it's very budget but overclocks like no other. Stepping up to a GX2

yes you could run gta4 .need prove. all you need is q8200,4gb ram,9500gt to run it. ps3 is running 7900gt on 640p on their system so its possible to run it~! you have to update ur driver and game.so patch it up to 1.3 version to fix fps. if you want to run it to xbox 360 graphic(which is 720p).trust me it work. here is the setting.also i found that when you run texture high.you get more fps.its wierd but its true. anywayz, here

My brother's PC has a 9500GT and a E5200 (at stock speeds) and it runs Fallout 3 at medium-high settings. I don't know about GTA4 or Crysis, but Fallout 3 runs fine.

Well, the 9600gt has a green edition that uses 59 Watts and the regular edition that uses 96 Watts. The way you can tell which edition you are buying is that the green edition are either silent/fanless or they don't require the extra 6-pin connector. Personally, I'm getting a MSI 9600gt DDR3 1GB from newegg that has a fan but doesn't require the extra 6-pin connector.
