Ive got a Area-51 5500 desktop. Ive got two 1g DDR2 and two 512 sticks of ram installed.

Im wanting to replace the two 512s.

My motherboard is a
"INTEL D975xbx motherboard REV. 304"

Crucial says I can put only two more 1Gs in.

I was looking the the motherboard I have and it says it can hold up to 8g.

I would like to know if i can put in two 2Gs to make a total of 6G and if i can, what one would i need to buy.

Are you running a 64 bit OS?
If you are using a 32 bit OS, you already have as much memory as the system will be able to use. You can add more, but it won't be able to use it.
If you do have a 64bit OS, I see no reason why you cannot do it.
The board has 4 slots, and supports a total of 8gig.
