Just curious GTX 260 OC possibilities?

I am very close to pulling the trigger on a GTX 260 216core. I was up in the air between this and the 4870 but decided to lean this way. My question is, I see that XFX has a Black Edition clocked at 666 core and 2300 Mem. What are the limits of OCing on stock cooling with these cards? I know my current 8800GTS/512 overclocked an easy 100MHZ on the gpu side. What do these guys do?

I've got an EVGA GTX 260 regular and I clocked it up to 729/1224/1458 (core/mem/shader) on the stock cooling. I would hope that the xfx black edition would clock a bit better yet. Although, it has more cores enabled, which means more heat so maybe not.

I really don't think the "Black Edition" is anything more than the card OCed from factory. I always get the plain vanilla cards and OC myself.

So 729MHz you say? That is Impressive.

I have an EVGA 260 regular, and it runs at 735/1200/1400 (core/mem/shaders). With the stock cooler on 100%, it maxes out at about 56 degrees.

The factory overclocked cards technically should be binned higher though.

And my fan is left on auto. Gets up to 45-50% RPM under full load. 75C max temp.
