Hello,
A friend gave me 10 yr. old Dell desktop w/XP. It won't play dvd's I get. My friend said it use to. He thinks he deleted something when he was preparing the PC for me. I get the OXCOOD1199 error message when I try to play a dvd with WMP. However, my WMP will play videos I have on my portable hard drive. My PC will play audio CD's using the Samsung DVD-ROM SD-616T, and DVD+RW IDE 1008 0055 installed on the computer. I don't have internet at home. I keep coming to the library, where I am now, downloading drives, codecs, etc, then installing them on my computer hoping one of them will make it work. No luck yet.
Is there an easy way to do this?
I'm not an expert.
