Hi folks

I've just taken delivery of a juicy new Q9650 as an upgrade to my existing system. Before I fit it I was wondering if anyone's got any feedback on the stock fan?

I'm fitting it to a XFX nForce 780i mobo. I'm also running a 280gtx OC gfx card, which is relatively hot.

I'll be using a relatively large case, with a fan over the graphics card and relatively decent airflow.

I will probably do a little light overclocking, but I won't be pushing it too hard, as I'm too inexperienced.

I was looking at getting one of the Akasa all-in-one case displays to help me monitor the temperature. Are these any good?

Any feedback or suggestions much appreciated!

Try the stock cooler if you get it. I've been able to run all my core2 duo cpus with a low fan speed setting if not overclocking. With a 4 pin connector, you can adjust the fan speed in the bios of most newer boards.
