Hi Guys, iv built my new PC finally and am getting the BSOD... first time it happened i was applying graphics settings on Red Alert 3... when i rebooted it said "recovered from serious system error" or something along those lines.. then it kept happening so i reinstalled OS and its after happening again the error code was 0x0000003e if that means anything to anyone i got other codes too but never thought to record them
my system spec is:
Vista X64 Ultimate
Asus Striker Extreme
Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600
EVGA 9400 GT 1Gb PCI-e x16
OCZ PC6400 DDR2 2GB Ram
Coolermaster M630 PSU
9400GT isnt a gaming card, could be over heating if not any proper air flow. test the memory, google memtest and burn to a cd and boot from it and run a few passes... your cpu and psu are great... memory is good. could be vista 64. i use vista 64 and sometimes i have random errors too, could be a variety of things. but i would start with memory....
thanks for the reply, i notice on CPU-Z that my RAM is only running at 400Mhz (1.8v) instead of 800Mhz (2.1v) , should i increase the voltage in the bios... was thinking could be the card, was also thinkin to Dual Boot XP and see if there is any difference there....
i will also try that memtest and see how that goes
