Raid 0 with sataII and sataIII drives

Can I raid0 my 640 caviar black sata II with a same drive but sata III?

  1. Yes, though using similar drives is generally recommended for performance reasons. The slowest drive will set the performance level.

    Remember to use a high stripe-size (128KiB) and create partition using Windows 7 or Vista; with 1024KiB offset so the RAID is aligned. The default install with these operating systems will take care of that.
