I bought this Aver PCI-E combo card. It installed real easy, integrated with media center very well, but the live TV quality sucks.
I hook my comcast cable up to the tuner card with a regular coaxial cable. The monitor is hooked to the vid card via DVI.
it could be a number of things really, first, test the cable with a tv. if the tv comes up clear, then there is something to do with the card whether it be hardware or software, i know that in one of my friends computers it was some noise being generated by his wireless card, because when he sold the card, the picture started coming up clear.
The actual cable is fine. I've tried a couple different programs (sage, beyondtv, averMC) and those produced the same ghosting effects with live TV and recording. Anyone know if it is actually possible to get super crisp clear picture via coax/tuner/lcd monitor?
it is, like i said before, my friends came in clear, so the problem might be with electronic noise within your case or, i've heard of it happening, within the pcie channels themselves
If you're getting ghosting on cable, then your cable company's signal is not strong enough to you, or you have poorly shielded long cable connected to your PC.
Either phone the cable company or improve your cable quality/length.
