Hey, I'm going with a AMD build. I have a couple questions though. Do i need a 800Watt to power all of this? Is that too much? Too Little? Is the Biostar TForceTA790GX good with the Phenom 9950? Would i be able to fit my PCI-E TV Tuner with the big 4870x2 Graphics on that MOBO. Which MOBO should i use?? Any advice on the whole system would be appreciated. This is my first build.

Get a SATA DVD burner, not the IDE one. SATA is faster and you won't have to use the IDE oem ribbon cables.

The Western Digital 640 GB hard drive (SATA again) is only $5 - $10 more then the 500GB one, and it's faster.

Don't go with a Xion power supply, get a Corsair or PC Power and Cooling 750w one which would be fine for this system. I've always had good luck with Biostar motherboards, never had any problems and i like their BIOS set up for overclocking.

Good article to read about CPU scaling with the HD4870x2 here.

good luck

I heard that the 4870 x2 is so big and with the Biostar having the PCI-E x1 slot right next to the video card slot..that its high possible that the TV Tuner won't fit..

I've decided to put a little more cash down and go all out with the Intel build. Anyone have any suggestions? Good MOBO with this chip?
