No need, that CPU will play games fine for some time to come yet and the benefits of either Quad or PII will be far out weighed by the cost. Money for gaming is best spent on a GPU upgrade assuming you havent got a decent card already.

my sons (older system from the summer) w/ vista 64bit hp

E8500 is running 3.8ghz at 425 fsb on a asus p35 p5k pro mobo

running Gskill pi ram at 850mhz 4-4-5-14 at 2.1v sandar is an amazing 7,825mhz

with a 3870X2 18k+ 3dmark06

temps with prime95 45-46c at 100% !!!! how that for low! (ok the thermalright ultima90 properly installed with lots of thermal past and dual fans is overkill)

good luck!

this computer is very very fast and repsonsive - if you do not multitask - great systems. otherwise a q6600 for multitasking or i7 is better
