Either type will work fine. If you're purchasing one, get a quality name brand, even if it's rated lower in wattage. Cheap power supplies do not hold up under load; I've had some die in days. I recommend antec, enermax, seasonic, corsair, or pc power and cooling. 500 watts with one of these brands should be sufficient for a one video card system; 700-800 for 2 high end cards.

u Need a 4pin, usually the psu comes with 2x2 4pins or more, the second 4 pin only needs to be in use if you want to oc very very strong, as in exceeding over 130w in the cpu chip

as for psu brand...whats your video card?

I plan to go with a hd4870 and leave room for xfire in the future. Plan to get a Corsair 850TX and G/Byte
